Welcome at the new and improved Viesign.
A lot has been going on the last couple of weeks, I graduated my higher education "Graphical and Digital Media - Cross Media Design". The same day I got my diploma I found a great job. And those two are the reason why Viesign.com is getting a big overhaul. Viesign.com has always been a couple of things.
- A learning place, where I could sharpen my skills as a web-media designer.
- A showcase to show my past works and future plans.
- An online portfolio/curriculum vitae for future job offers and freelance work.
- And for the last 2 years the home of Viesign Cotton, my T-shirt madness materialised.
Since I found a job which I plan to keep, I think some of these points don't fit the bill anymore.
The place for learning will be an even bigger part of the new website. Viesign has had a lot of re-incarnations the last 10 or so years, but for the last 4, it was a Wordpress driven website. I always been happy with Wordpress and it always gave me all the possibilities i needed from a CMS. But at my new job, we specialise in Joomla! driven websites. And so, if I want to keep learning and get better at my job, I need to adjust my place of education. Therefor from this day on, Viesign.com will be a Joomla based website.
The site will remain a showcase of my work, but it will be much, much less important then before. The hole T-shirt designer aspect will get even more attention and the other aspects will fade over time. Because that is what I plan for the future of Viesign.
A portfolio/CV and especially the freelance work will fade and will become T-shirt related business only, I simply don't have time for freelancing and I don't plan on seeking any other jobs any time soon. If you still want work to be done by my hand i suggest you contact my employer.
Viesign Cotton, the last of the important reasons for Viesign to be. Viesign Cotton will no longer be and will just be called Viesign. The most important aspect of this site will be my T-shirt collection and my T-shirt designs, some for sale, some for show. Custom T-shirts will stay my special feature and can be order by email or any other way you know how to contact me, just keep in mind that my smoke signal reading is a bit rusty.
